KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS

  • Medicated with chlortetracycline to aid in prevention and control of shipping fever
  • Pelleted: Prevents sorting at the bunk. Thus, Since it takes 1 to 2 weeks to get stressed calves eating adequate amounts of feed, it is important that every bite be nutritionally balanced.
  • All natural protein: Due to reduced rumen function, stressed calves cannot efficiently utilize high amounts of urea (non-protein nitrogen). Urea may also reduce intake.
  • High in fiber but also high in energy: In general, as energy concentration of a receiving diet increases, morbidity and mortality increase. However, performance improves and cost of gain declines. Thus, one needs to provide a feed that provides a balance of fiber and energy.
  • Contains 25% cottonseed hulls: Increases palatability, helps get calves started on feed.
  • Contains 25% soybean hulls: Energy provided by "digestible fiber" as opposed to starch; does not reduce forage digestion or utilization like grain based feeds can.
  • Contains optimal fortification of both vitamins (vitamins A, D and E) and trace minerals: Helps stimulate immune system.
  • Contains organic zinc in the form of zinc methionine: More available source of zinc to help stimulate immune system.
  • Contains yeast culture: Helps repopulate rumen and stimulate intake.
